The City of Reykjavík recently presented awards for beautiful outdoor grounds at apartment buildings and commercial properties, as well as high-quality renovations of older buildings in Reykjavík for the years 2020 and 2021.
One of the most beautiful outdoor areas in 2020 was Grandavegur Street 42.
The City of Reykjavík gave the following reasoning:
High-quality design. A neat and well-maintained outdoor area. Very good accessibility throughout the site. A wide range of possible uses for all age groups. Diverse and well-selected planting that creates a soft and welcoming appearance.
The outdoor area was designed by Hermann Georg Gunnlaugsson, landscape architect and member of the Icelandic Association of Landscape Architects.
