\u00deingvangur is a strong construction company in Iceland and has been growing steadily since its founding in 2006. The owner, P\u00e1lmar Har\u00f0arson, along with the board and key executives, all bring decades of experience in the construction industry.<\/p>\n
The company has built hotels, office buildings, residential housing, summer houses, industrial buildings, cattle farms, and shopping centers. \u00deingvangur operates its own quality system certified by Frumherji, has in-house electrical and mechanical divisions, and imports key materials to ensure quality, availability, and competitive pricing. The company offers collaboration with businesses of all sizes and participates in selected tender projects.<\/p>\n
\u00deingvangur employs around 40 people, in addition to a large number of subcontractors.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have worked in this field almost my entire life,\u201d says P\u00e1lmar Har\u00f0arson, CEO. \u201cI started young in construction with my father, H\u00f6r\u00f0ur J\u00f3nsson. Both my grandfather and great-grandfather also built numerous houses here in the capital. When I drive around the capital area and the countryside, I can point to many buildings that my family has been involved in.\u201d<\/p>\n
The years following the financial crash were challenging for the entire construction industry, but the beginning of \u00deingvangur\u2019s growth can be traced to when the company purchased the old Technical College in Akureyri, renovated the building, and transformed it into a stylish Icelandair hotel.<\/p>\n
In recent years, \u00deingvangur has participated in numerous ambitious projects in prominent locations, such as L\u00fdsisreitur, Hlj\u00f3malindarreitur, and Brynjureitur.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter regaining momentum, our growth has been rapid, and many large projects are currently underway. Our operations are not limited to the capital area, as we have completed major projects across the country, including hotels in Akureyri and H\u00f6fn in Hornafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, a volcano center in Hvolsv\u00f6llur, eleven year-round houses in Kjarnask\u00f3gur, a caf\u00e9 at Hellnar on Sn\u00e6fellsnes, and one of the largest cattle farms in Iceland at Sandh\u00f3ll in Me\u00f0alland, Skaft\u00e1rhreppur,\u201d says P\u00e1lmar.<\/p>\n
\u00deingvangur has long imported its own materials from reliable suppliers worldwide. This ensures quality and availability while also reducing costs for all parties involved. The company also operates its own machinery and electrical divisions.<\/p>\n
All operations at \u00deingvangur follow an internal quality system that defines numerous aspects of the company\u2019s procedures, including workflows, data storage, and communication with public authorities.<\/p>\n
This ensures consistency and continuity in operations. Over time, accumulated experience and knowledge lead to increasingly improved project execution. \u00deingvangur\u2019s quality system is certified by Frumherji, which also conducts audits every two years.<\/p>\n
The company is also in the process of implementing the Ajour quality system for internal monitoring.<\/p>\n
\u00deingvangur began participating in tender projects in 2018. Notable examples include a service facility in \u00d6rfirisey for the City of Reykjav\u00edk, extensive renovations at Korputorg, where \u00cdSAM plans to relocate operations including Fr\u00f3n Biscuit Factory and Myllan, as well as interior redevelopment for Vodafone\u2019s specialized facilities on Su\u00f0urlandsbraut.<\/p>\n
One of the most exciting projects undertaken by \u00deingvangur is the Laugarnes development area below Kleppsvegur\u2014a large-scale development zone with a construction volume comparable to two Sm\u00e1ralind shopping malls.<\/p>\n
